International Museum Day at the Gallen-Kallela Museum
The Gallen-Kallela Museum celebrates International Museum Day on Sunday 18 May by offering free admission to our current exhibition.
International Museum Day has been celebrated on 18 May since 1977. The aim is to raise awareness of the role of museums in society, both among the public and among decision-makers.
Today, nearly 30 000 museums in more than 120 countries around the world are taking part in International Museum Day celebrations through a range of events.
Museum visits are organised in a way that respects public and museum safety guidelines. For this reason, we can only admit a limited number of visitors at a time. So be prepared for a possible queue and check the museum's accessibility information before your visit.
