French themes by artists.
Halosenniemi’s summer exhibition showcases the French influence in Finnish art in the late 19th and early 20th century. During that time many notable Finnish artists studied in Paris, among them Pekka Halonen. In the 1890’s Halonen studied in Académie Julian and Académie Colarossi as well as under the tutelage of the famous French artist Paul Gauguin.
In the exhibition we have paintings from over twenty Finnish artists as well as from French artists such as Paul Gauguin, Marguérite Ribaut and Edgar Degas.
