How did a young boy from Lahti become the king of European football fields?
Jari Litmanen Exhibition offers a comprehensive look at the incredible career of the Finnish football legend, while also paying tribute to the passion, perseverance, and courage to dream.
Jari Litmanen has left a lasting mark on Finnish sports - and now his story is told in an exhibition that the footballer himself has played a significant role in curating.
A product of Lahden Reipas, Litmanen rose to become a phenomenon across football-following Europe. During his career, he played for several clubs, achieving his greatest success with Ajax Amsterdam, where he won the Champions League in 1995. That very jersey is on display in the exhibition!
In Finland, Litmanen earned the nickname “The King,” and he also won the hearts of the Dutch, especially through his humility - and, of course, his goals. The exhibition also features a strong focus on the fan culture surrounding Litmanen, with the help of collector Taneli Okkonen, who specializes in “Litti.”
