Beloved painter Pentti Kokko and his new exhibition bring urban stories to Hiekka Art Museum for the summer season.
Pentti Kokko (born 1938) is known for his landscapes and city views. The core and inspiration of the artist’s long career is nature and human built environment. Kokko has kept an atelier-gallery in Tampere for decades, which can be seen in the local landscapes of his paintings.
In recent years, Pentti Kokko has brought new, more modern undertones to his art. Through a freer take, fresh dimensions have been found in familiar themes. The exhibition features mainly newer paintings in which the city views are full of life and joy. Both watercolour and oil paintings are present in the exhibition.
