Free admission to Jyväskylä Art Museum on 10 July for Finnish Visual Arts Day

Finnish Visual Arts Day is celebrated annually on 10 July in honour of the birthday of Helene Schjerfbeck. The day has been observed since 2004.

To celebrate Finnish visual arts, admission to the Jyväskylä Art Museum is free all day on Friday, 10 July, from 11 am to 6 pm. Visitors can enjoy tunnemaailma / tunne ● maailma, an exhibition by Jyväskylä-based printmaker Kirsi Neuvonen, as well as the Tourujoki exhibition in the museum's gallery.

Kirsi Neuvonen is a celebrated printmaker, best known as a pioneer of Finnish colour printmaking. Her art combines sensitivity, bold experimentation, and richly layered visual thinking. She draws inspiration from sources including classical antiquity, art history, and girlhood. This extensive solo exhibition offers a unique overview of the artist's career, themes, and techniques.

Tourujoki is a joyful, hands-on exhibition where visitors are encouraged to explore through touching, moving, experimenting, and wondering. The exhibition is inspired by Tourujoki, the beloved river that flows through the heart of Jyväskylä, surrounded by the city, birds, and forests.
