DÍSIR – Nordic Photography Networking Event

Following our successful launch in Copenhagen in 2024, Dísir – a Nordic network for woman photographers – is coming to Helsinki.

Join us at The Finnish Museum of Photography for an afternoon of photography, conversation and new encounters across the Nordic photographic community – and to celebrate the launch of Dísir in Helsinki.

Dísir was founded to bring together woman photographers and artists working with the medium across the Nordic countries, creating a space to exchange ideas and experiences, build professional networks and initiate collaborations across borders.

The Helsinki event will feature three speakers:

Lise Johansen will introduce Dísir and share the ideas and ambitions behind the network.

Charlotte Wiig will present A Female Gaze, the Norwegian photography collective she founded in 2020, and talk about her experience of building and sustaining a collaborative platform for woman photographers.

Pauline Koffi Vandet is a curator who recently started as EMMA–Saastamoinen Curatorial Fellow, where she conducts independent research into Saastamoinen Foundation Art Collection, one of Finland’s most significant collections of modern and contemporary art. She also runs the Copenhagen-based curatorial duo Koffi & Højgaard with Ida Højgaard Thjømøe. Pauline will share her insights of her research and a curatorial perspective in the cross-Nordic collaboration.

Following the talks, we’ll host a one-hour networking event, offering plenty of time to meet others, continue the conversation, and make new connections over refreshments.

Whether you are a photographer, artist, curator, student, editor, or simply interested in photography, women’s perspectives and meeting others in the field, you are warmly welcome.
