The Museum of Tornio Valley showcases Tornio Valley culture and history on both sides of the Finnish-Swedish border.
The Museum of Tornio Valley showcases Tornio Valley culture and history on both sides of the Finnish-Swedish border. The Museum specialices in the local way of life and border region phenomena. The permanent exhibition highlights the traditional means of living, the history of Tornio and Haparanda cities, border trade and smuggling. Local languages and dialects can be listened to in audiochairs. Past becomes alive through the artifacts and abundant picture and film material.The museum offers also 3-5 temporary exhibitions per year.

Guided tours
Guided visits for exhibition are booked in advance tornionlaaksonmuseo@tornio.fi or +358 50 597 1559.
Price: 50 € during the weekdays until 5 pm. In the evenings and in the weekends 70 €. For schools 40€ (Tornio and Haparanda schools free of charge) and guided visits outside museum 60€.
The maximum size of the groups is 25 persons.
