The Pro Arte exhibition will feature spatial artworks and sculptural wood and glass objects.
Master cabinetmaker and designer Antrei Hartikainen (b. 1991) emphasizes craftsmanship and understanding of materials in his work. His sculptural artworks, made in wood and glass, challenge the boundaries between design and art.
Hartikainen is interested in the tension between nature and the built environment. The artworks in the exhibition draw on observations of nature, the relationship between people and the environment as well as the properties of materials. They explore growth, transformation, and sustainability expressed through renewal. Hartikainen’s works invite the viewer to connect with the natural environment.
Hartikainen is Didrichsen Art Museum’s Pro Arte artist for 2025. The museum has awarded this recognition to promising young artists since 2003.
