Niclas Warius: Recollection

Niclas Warius (b. 1972) is known for his site-specific still life photographs and installations. The works in the exhibition were created in the historical milieu of Porvoo. The starting point of the photographs lies in Warius's own experiences in his former hometown and in the stories of the Runeberg family, as well as the connections between them.

In his works, Warius deals with power relations, deviations from norms and the vanity of everything. In the rooms of the Home Museum, the inevitable passage of time meets the layered nature of things.

The exhibition has been supported by Svenska kulturfonden in Finland and Konstsamfundet. The partners have been the Cultural Services of the City of Porvoo and the Porvoo Museum.
