Espoo Ciné x WeeGee outdoor screening: The Young Girls of Rochefort

Espoo Ciné and WeeGee present an Espoo Day outdoor screening: Jacques Demy’s beloved musical classic The Young Girls of Rochefort (1967), shown in the summery courtyard of WeeGee.

This film continues the celebrated collaboration between Demy, composer Michel Legrand, and screen icon Catherine Deneuve, whose work together first enchanted audiences in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964). The film is in French with Finnish subtitles. The grassy summer courtyard at WeeGee makes for a cozy setting – bring a picnic blanket! The event is free of charge and open to audiences of all ages. The courtyard is fully accessible for people with reduced mobility.

Deneuve and her sister Françoise Dorléac portray charming and lively twin sisters dreaming of an artist’s life in Paris – and of true love. Over one summer weekend, life brings unexpected encounters.
