The extensive exhibition, filling all three floors of the museum, features works from the collections of the Tampere Art Museum and the City of Tampere, representing nearly 90 artists from the 1810s to the 2020s.
Beloved classics and striking contemporary artworks can be seen once more in the Tampere Art Museum’s spring exhibition. After the exhibition closes, the museum will shut its doors for approximately four years due to a major renovation and new construction project.
The selection ranges from Hjalmar Munsterhjelm’s early Golden Age moonlit landscapes to recent acquisitions of contemporary art, including Kim Simonsson’s moss girl. The exhibition includes paintings, sculptures, prints, photography, and media art.
For the first time, a wide selection of works from the Town Hall collection will also be on public display.
