How does the Museum Card monthly payment work?

• The Museum Card is always a one-year cultural journey. Monthly payment is a new way to enjoy hundreds of experiences around Finland.
• When you purchase the Museum Card with monthly payment, you commit to 12 monthly
• payments. You pay €7.45/month for 12 months, a total of €89.40 per year.
• You can buy a new Museum Card or renew your current card with monthly payment. The card can be purchased via the online store or the Museum Card app. Monthly payment is not available at museums.
• Currently, the monthly payment cannot be paid with cultural benefits. However, you can buy the Museum Card for one year with a one-time payment (€86) using cultural benefits.

You get access to the Museum Card immediately. The 12-month validity period starts only from your first museum visit. When renewing a valid card, its expiration date is extended by one year.

Can I renew my Museum Card with monthly payment?

Yes, you can renew your Museum Card for a year with monthly payment.

Here's how:

1. Go to My Museum Card or open the app.
2. Enter your customer number or email and log in.
3. Select renewal and choose monthly payment as the payment method.

The monthly payment will be charged from your card for 12 months. You commit to the payments for one year and cannot cancel during the payment period. If you prefer, you can renew the Museum Card with a one-time payment for the full year (€79 / €86).

If your card has expired, the new 12-month validity period starts from the date of purchase. If it is still valid, the renewal pushes the expiration date forward by 12 months.

When does the monthly subscription end?

Your monthly subscription ends once all 12 instalments have been paid. After that, you can renew for another year either with monthly payment or a one-time payment. The subscription cannot be cancelled during the 12 months.

NOTE: A new Museum Card becomes valid only after your first museum visit. If you start your monthly subscription in July but visit a museum for the first time in September, your card will be valid until the following September.

Can I pay the monthly fee with cultural benefits?

Currently, you cannot pay the monthly fee with cultural benefits. However, you can buy the Museum Card for one year with a one-time payment using cultural benefits. The Museum Card online store accepts Edenred cards, Epassi, and Smartum balance.

I want to buy the Museum Card with a one-time payment. How do I do that?

You can purchase the Museum Card for a year with a one-time payment of €86 from the online store or at over 360 museums around Finland.
