The Shio Yard i Jakobstad shelters reparations schooner Vega and Jacobstad Wapen during the summer.
The Ship yard is a vibrant maritime area where a working boatyard meets a museum. Visitors can experience the galeas Jacobstads Wapen, the war reparations schooner Vega, maritime cultural history, and the story of Finland’s war reparations. We especially aim to engage children and young people by highlighting the craftsmanship and knowledge behind traditional wooden shipbuilding. In our cozy museum shop we sell local handicrafts and maritime-themed products.
