Kallio Blooms festival at the Kindergarten Museum

The Kindergarten Museum has free admission during the festival week and is open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 12–19, and on Saturday from 10–14. In addition to exploring the museum independently and playing, visitors can also craft flowers in the spirit of the festival using different techniques in the museum’s workshop room.

On Wednesday, visitors are treated to a workshop called Images of Summer, where they can design their dream summer using collage techniques. The workshop runs as a drop-in session from 16:30–18:00, so visitors can come and go freely. It is led by graphic designer Hanna Siikamäki from the Helsinki Workers’ Institute.

The Kallio Blooms festival week culminates in the Sound Courtyard event, held both in the yard and inside the Ebeneser House. The program includes sunflower planting, park-style music play sessions, musical performances, crafts, and the chance to try different instruments. A pop-up café run by the parents’ association of Ebeneser daycare will offer delicious treats and inviting aromas. Visitors can also find affordable children’s and youth books at the Pro lastenkirjallisuus association’s pop-up book sale. The Kindergarten Museum will be open as part of the event, and visitors can also take a self-guided architecture tour of the Ebeneser House.

The Sound Courtyard event is produced in collaboration with the Keski-Helsinki Music Institute, Kallio Music School, Resonaari Music Institute, Pro Childrens Literature association, Ebeneser ECEC (City of Helsinki), Helsinki Finnish Adult Education Centre, and the Kindergarten Museum.
