MuseoFest: Guided Tours of the Alvar Aalto Museum Collection Facilities

The Alvar Aalto Museum’s collection and storage facilities are located on three floors within the Kanavuori cave complex. In the Alvar Aalto Museum’s collection facilities, you will see furniture and other objects spanning Alvar Aalto’s entire career.

There are two Alvar Aalto Museum guided tours, both with the same content. Each tour is limited to 20 participants and lasts approximately 45 minutes. Discover the extensive and unique collections and hear fascinating stories about selected objects from expert guides.

Please note that the tour is not fully accessible. Please provide information about any mobility restrictions when registering. The tour will be held in Finnish.

The University of Jyväskylä Open Science Centre (library and museum) will also offer guided collection tours at Kanavuori from 12:00–13:15 and 13:45–15:00. You are welcome to take part in both an Alvar Aalto Museum tour and an Open Science Centre tour if you wish.

Please note! Participation in the tours is only possible with advance registration and a MuseoFest festival wristband. Registration links for the tours will be sent by email after purchasing a wristband. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
