When the Soviet leader Stalin, supported by substantial material aid from The US and Britain, had sent his troops to rape Berlin and the Berlin women time was ripe for an armistice with Finland.
How did the Soviet base close to the capital affect those living nearby - and what happened to those who crossed the border at sea? The Porkkalabase existed for just eleven years, but the destroy of fields and forests was enormous, a lot of the buildings were either in a very bad shape or had just been taken away, somewhere. The Porkkala people had to work very hard - and they needed tractors.
