The museum exhibits the nearly 100-year history of the wool spinning mill established by the engineer Ossian Donner, and it describes how the mill became one of Finland's largest and most versatile textile factories.
The Valvilla Wool Mill Museum was founded in 1981 in the former firefighting equipment storehouse of the Old Wool Mill. The museum also relates how Hyvinkää was transformed from a small rural community to a modern city.
