Ateneum Late – free for students and under 25-year-olds

Ateneum Late is an evening event that invites visitors to spend time enjoying art. The programme includes workshops, music and site-specific contemporary art. During the evening, you can be inspired by dance, draw in the exhibition galleries, and immerse yourself in the works. At the end of the evening, our guest artists invite you to an intimate performance at the Ateneum Bistro.

Tsuumi Dance Theatre: Your Solo in Me
Ateneum Hall

– A dance work in which the viewer is in charge

Come and create your own dance work!

In a solo performance by the dance artist Patrik Riipinen, the viewers have the power to choose the clothes, music and theme of the solo work for the dancer. The interaction between the audience and the dancer produces several small solo scenes and a fun, participatory art experience.

For the viewer, Your Solo in Me is a pleasant and rewarding first step towards the world of contemporary dance. Riipinen’s strong interpretation, coupled with the intimate space, brings the viewer close to the dance and the dance artist.

The audience can watch the entire performance or just pop in for a moment, and if they wish, they can also participate in the creation of the solos.

Nikita Titov (solo)
Ateneum Bistro

Nikita Titov is a Helsinki-based indie-rock songwriter. His music moves effortlessly from the euphoria of psychedelic folk rock to the melancholy of 1990s alternative rock. A love for the goth/new wave genres features prominently in the sound. Titov’s knack for penning classic songs has attracted the attention of music lovers since the release of his first singles.

On display all night
Works by students on the site-specific art course at the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of the Arts Helsinki are on display at the Ateneum Late event and during the following weekend, on 22–23 November.
