In this year's summer exhibition, artist Barbro Eriksson fills the Åland Art Museum with tiny, tiny stitches.
Eriksson has worked with the connection between the hand, brain and heart and embroidered meters of messages in different languages.
In parallel with Barbro Eriksson's exhibition, the Åland Art Museum is showing an exhibition of Karl Emanuel Jansson, 1846-1874. He depicted soulful studies of people and during his short life he was considered one of Finland's foremost artists. A sample of his skill is the portrait of an Åland peasant bride, which has been nicknamed "Åland's Mona-Lisa".
