Rhizome, Haihatus´ 27th Summer Exhibition

The 27th Summer Exhibition at Haihatus is an intuitive summer adventure set in the renewed art centre courtyard and gallery area. The exhibition is built around the theme of the rhizome, and the selection of works has been curated by the Haihatus artistic team together with invited artists and an open call.

The exhibition features works by 21 artists and artist groups based in Finland. It also includes an international contribution from the Art Without Transportation project: a sculpture by Canadian artist Jude Griebel, realised as a local craft production.

The rhizome theme is expressed through multisensory, interactive, and evolving artworks. The works can grow and change in relation to the audience, nature, and the surrounding environment. The exhibition connects art, science, and community-based practice with themes of sustainability and transformation.

The summer exhibition is also suitable for children. During your visit, you can spend a relaxed summer day enjoying picnic-style food, café services, and outdoor games in the courtyard. As the day turns into evening, you can stay overnight surrounded by art, either in your own tent or camper van, or by renting a tent from us.

The Summer Exhibition is open 19 June – 30 August 2026, Tuesday to Sunday, 11 am – 6 pm.
