Maritime Centre Vellamo & Xamk: Warm Lights Film Fest

The Warm Lights Film Fest is a 3-day event organized by Xamk (South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences) Integration Support services in partnership with Maritime Centre Vellamo. During the event, you can watch four films from different cultures free of charge.

The Warm Lights Film Fest first edition brings films from Finland, Lithuania, Brazil and India. The films are shown in original languages and have English subtitles.

Each film is preceded by a 15-minute introduction to set the scene by people from those cultures. After the film a 30-minute Snack & Mingle gathering offers the audience an opportunity to talk about the films, ask questions and exchange impressions.

Although admission is free of charge, due to limited auditorium capacity tickets are needed. Free tickets can be picked up from Xamk’s infodesk, Vellamo’s infodesk, and Kotka’s main library’s infodesk during their regular opening hours. E-tickets can be also retrieved directly from Kide app.
