The wonderful garden and home of the national poet J.L. Runeberg in the original 19th century style is a must see when visiting the idyllic Old Porvoo.
The Finnish national poet, J. L. Runeberg (1804–1877), lived with his wife, Fredrika, in the house from 1852 until his death in 1877. The home of J.L. Runeberg is the oldest home museum in Finland and was opened for public in 1882. Summertime you can also visit the lovely flower garden.

J. L. Runeberg's home is open during winter 1.9.-30.4. Wed-Sun 10am-4pm and during summer 2.5.-31.8. daily at 10 am - 5 pm. (Closed during Midsummer).
