The Halosenniemi Museum
Halosenniementie 4-6,
04310 Tuusula
A Beautiful 20th century artist residence and atelier at the heart of Finnish culture, the shores of Tuusulanjärvi lake.
The Halosenniemi, completed in 1902, tells the story of Pekka Halonen's art, his life's work and his friends who created the renowned Tuusula Rantatie artist community. The museum's special exhibitions present Pekka Halonen's art, linking it to the work of his contemporaries and later periods.
The simple, castle-like artist's home was built slowly, with thought and love, and is a magnificent work of art by Pekka Halonen, including the interior. The architecture of the building elegantly combines traditional Finnish construction with European national romantic influences.
The Halosenniemi complex also includes the garden of Maija and Pekka Halonen, which has been restored to its original state. In keeping with the artist's concept of nature, the entire Halosenniemi area is a legally protected nature reserve.
