MuseoFest: Guided Tour at the JYU Museum & Alvar Aalto Museum Collection centre

Experience a rare opportunity to visit both the Alvar Aalto Museum and the Jyväskylä University Museum collection facilities on the same guided tour in Kanavuori Collection Centre, Vaajakoski.

Located in the Kanavuori cave complex, the Jyväskylä University Library and Museum share the space with the Alvar Aalto Museum’s storage and collection facilities. The Jyväskylä University Museum’s collections trace the history of the university and its predecessors, starting from the 19th-century teacher seminary. In the Alvar Aalto Museum’s collection spaces, you’ll see furniture and other objects spanning the entire career of Alvar Aalto.

Advance registration is required for the guided tour. Two tours will begin simultaneously, each lasting 60 minutes and covering both museums’ facilities. Each group can accommodate up to 20 participants. Arrival is by private car, with parking available at the lakeside in a designated area.
The tour will be held in Finnish.
