Ahlström Voyage

The exhibition texts can now be read in English and 27 other languages via a QR code available in the exhibition!

Located in the old smithy, the exhibition presents in an engaging way the history and present day of the Ahlström companies, family, and the Noormarkku ironworks, covering a period of more than 170 years.

The story of the company forms a significant part of Finland’s industrial, architectural, art, and design history. During the guided tours, you can explore art glass from the Iittala, Karhula, and Riihimäki glassworks, which were formerly part of the Ahlström Group. The exhibition features an impressive collection of works by, among others, Tapio Wirkkala and Timo Sarpaneva, as well as several unique examples of the Savoy vase (also known as the Aalto vase) designed by Alvar Aalto. The exhibition also includes an impressive scale model of the ironworks area and a new scale model and a new scale model of Villa Mairea.

The exhibition space is fully accessible and equipped with an elevator. Ticket sales, the museum shop, and restrooms are located at Makkarakoskentie 34 B.
