The first significant factory in Ulvila was the Kaasmarkku wool and baize factory, which operated in the village of Kaasmarkku from 1863 to 1926.
The Friitala Leather Museum’s seasonal exhibition “WOOL, BAIZE AND WATER MILLS” explores the stages of this wool and baize factory. The exhibition also presents the history of the watermills that once stood along the banks of the Kaasmarkku rapids.
