International Museum Day: free admission all day

On Sunday, May 18, we celebrate International Museum Day. At WeeGee, this means free admission throughout our opening hours from 11 AM to 5 PM.

The theme of International Museum Day 2025 is "The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities." Celebrated since 1977, the day highlights the societal role of museums in the eyes of both the public and decision-makers. The 2025 theme emphasizes the multifaceted role of museums as important meeting places and preservers of culture in a world where social, technological, and environmental changes are happening rapidly and simultaneously.

At Exhibition Centre WeeGee, visitors can see one of the few Futuro houses designed by Matti Suuronen that is open to the public. In line with the theme of preserving culture and history, International Museum Day is a great time to visit a museum and enjoy cultural experiences. The Futuro house has once again opened its doors for the summer season and welcomes visitors to explore the utopian architecture of the modernist era during WeeGee’s opening hours.
