The Colorful Life of Industrialist Walter Ahlström
The exhibition explores the remarkable life of industrialist Walter Ahlström, the rise of his company to become Finland’s largest, and the behind-the-scenes impact of the Second Industrial Revolution.

The exhibition on display at Noormarkku Club tells the story of Walter Ahlström’s life, achievements, and losses.
Walter Ahlström was born in May 1875 as the second child of Antti and Eva Ahlström. When he took over the leadership of the family company, Ahlström began its rapid growth into Finland’s largest company. In the history of Ahlström, this pioneer of the Second Industrial Revolution has no equal.
Walter Ahlström’s leisure time and luxurious lifestyle included music, art, and culture. He spent time at the family’s summer villas and homes, as well as on trips abroad. These journeys were undertaken in elegant cars, boats, or even in his own private railway carriage. His life as CEO also included moments of sorrow and family tragedies.
You can explore the exhibition at Noormarkku Club, Laviantie 14, during the restaurant’s opening hours.
