An archaeologist explains - guided tour on Sammallahdenmäki

Welcome to a free guided tour of Finland's only prehistoric UNESCO World Heritage Site. The guide is archaeologist Leena Koivisto from the Satakunta Museum. She has been working at Sammallahdenmäki since the 1990s. She will explain the basics of Sammallahdenmäki as a Bronze Age burial site. The tour will also tell you how the site, formerly known as Huiluvuori ("Flute Mountain"), became a World Heritage Site.

The tour starts from the southern information point of the site, at Savulaaksontie 181. Please be prepared with weather appropriate clothing and outdoor footwear, as the terrain is rough in places. The route is about 1.5 km long and the guided tour lasts about 1.5 hours.
