Mariella Kerscher (b. 1991, Augsburg, Germany) deals with existential themes such as our origin and the connection between the body, ecosystems, and the technosphere.

She works with various media such as drawing, painting, ceramics, video, and installation to connect as diverse fragments as possible into a larger whole, into something planetary.

Her artistic research pursues a scientific, technological, and often biological approach, which she combines with the poetic and sublime to break down patriarchal narratives about transgression and beauty.

Mariella Kerscher lives and works in Munich and studied at the Academy of fine Arts Munich.

In 2022, she was awarded a grant from the Neustart Kultur scholarship program of the Kunstfonds Foundation, and in 2023 she received an award in the “Young Talents” category of the Augsburg District Art Prize (three-dimensional). In 2025, she reached the preselection stage of the STRABAG Artawards International. In 2025, her first public art project, “Zusammen_Hang,” opened on the façade of the VePa Tower (Werksviertel Munich).

Her works are shown in various institutions and galleries, such as Parallel Vienna (Vienna, AT), Galerie Probst (Berlin, DE), the Glaspalast /H1 (Augsburg, DE), and the XY Gallery (Olomouc, CZ).
