Astronomy and the insightful inventions of academician Yrjö Väisälä
The permanent exhibition presents the insightful inventions of one of our most respected and beloved scientists, academician Yrjö Väisälä (1891-1971), as well as the everyday life of scientific work, and the work of new generations of researchers at Tuorla Observatory after him. In addition, Yrjö Väisälä's study opens up his personal history. Come and learn about manufacturing and measuring optics, various telescopes and wartime optics, high-precision distance measurements, minor planets and astronomical research.
