Opening: COLOUR + Dialogues

The main exhibition to open is the extensive COLOUR– A Collection Exhibition of Central Finland’s Art, which will be shown simultaneously at the art hall of the Museum of Central Finland starting on January 24. At the Art Museum Gallery, a joint exhibition by Timo Hannunen and Jaakko Valo opens, launching the Dialogues exhibition series.

COLOUR – A Collection Exhibition of Central Finland's Art

COLOUR is an exceptionally extensive collection exhibition that brings colour and energy to the midwinter season. The exhibition explores the central role of colour in Central Finnish art and how artists from the region developed their own approach to colour within Finnish modernism. The exhibition is presented simultaneously at two museums – Jyväskylä Art Museum and the Museum of Central Finland.

The gallery’s spring exhibition series presents two contemporary artists from Central Finland at a time. The exhibitions offer an opportunity to examine the artists’ practices and artistic thinking side by side, creating new perspectives on both the diversity of contemporary art in Central Finland and the works of well-known artists.
