Themed exhibition of the Käkisalmi Festival from 1947 to the present day
The Käkisalmi Museum presents a new festival-themed exhibition that tells the almost 80-year history of the Käkisalmi Festival.
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through time from 1947 to the present day using various images, texts and videos. There is also a digital scrapbook that brings together layers of memories and festival traditions.
The exhibition also features an interactive photo wall, where guests can recognize familiar faces from old festival photos.
Heinola has been a significant center of Karelian culture since the post-war years, and the Käkisalmi Festival has become an important part of local identity and community. The exhibition reveals the meaning, atmosphere, and stories of the festival over the decades.
