Finlands fotografiska museum K1 – världen genom fotografiet.
K1 observes the world through photography and examines what photography has contributed to the world since its invention.
The new K1 exhibition space of the Finnish Museum of Photography is located on the ground floor of Kämp Galleria and will open to the public on August 20. The opening exhibitions are the two photographic series Coco Chanel and An Evening with Marilyn by the Canadian Douglas Kirkland (b. 1934). These photographic series introduce two very different iconic women who understood the power of the visual in creating impressions.
Munalissu in her turn brings us to the present-day context. Media artist Liisa Vääriskoski's Munalissu is a feminist alter ego and art project that blurs the line between reality and fiction. The main platform used for the project is Instagram. The impulsive character takes control of her space, unashamed.
