Ateneum Late – free for students and under 25-year-olds

Ateneum Late is an evening event that invites visitors to spend time enjoying art. During the evening, visitors can be inspired by poetry and dance, create art in a workshop, participate in gentle guided tours, draw in the exhibition galleries, and immerse themselves in works of art. At the end of the evening, a DJ creates an inviting, intimate atmosphere at the Ateneum Bistro. The events follow the Ateneum’s safer space policy.

Programme

Room to breathe – Gentle, multisensory guided tours for small groups
17:00, 18:00 and 19:00 in the exhibition A Question of Time

The guided tour is a peaceful shared experience, appealing to all the senses. The group meets in the museum’s light court, and the tour lasts for 45 minutes. The tour is in Finnish only. Participants need to register in advance on the museum’s website or at the ticket office, if there are places available on the day. There is a limited number of places available.

Helsinki Poetry Connection/Poetry Jam
18:00 and 19:00, The Ateneum Hall

Helsinki Poetry Connection brings featured cross-disciplinary performers onto stage to explore the exhibitions’ themes. At the Poetry Jam clubs, spoken word poetry merges with performance, music, and art. Through the curated open mic, anyone can apply to step onto the stage. Come and experience the poetry of today in the Ateneum Hall!
