Expanding our Empathies: tour and dis­cus­sion with the artist

Where do your perspectives, feelings and values come from?

Enni-Kukka Tuomala invites you to gather around the works in her exhibition and to take part in a shared empathy exercise. The event offers an opportunity to reflect on empathy, the building of connection, and the examination of interpersonal distance and in-between spaces – together with the artist.

Tuomala’s multidisciplinary artistic practice focuses on understanding the relationships between empathy, power, space and structures. In Expanding Empathies, she brings together art and social thought to explore human distances and the role of public space in human interaction. During the event, we will gather around her Expansions series and reflect on the many forms connection can take – and what empathy could mean in everyday life.

Join us on Wednesday 11 June 2025 at 5:30 pm at Amos Rex. The event lasts approximately 45 minutes. Participation is included in the price of your Amos Rex admission ticket. No advance registration is required, but please arrive on time.
