Architecture of Light - Guided Tour

Architecture of Light exhibition explores light, shadow, and darkness during the darkest time of the year. Join a guided tour in the Art Hall of the museum centre, where the atmosphere is created by the classic lighting fixtures designed by Alvar Aalto.

 

During the tour, you will hear about the collaboration between Alvar Aalto and master metalsmith Viljo Hirvonen. You will also have the opportunity to discover the Beehive, Angel's Wing, and other luminaires whose names refer to their distinctive shapes and appearance. Come and experience this immersive exhibition celebrating the Christmas season and the dark time of year!

The tour will be conducted in Finnish in the Art Hall (4th floor) of the Aalto2 Museum Centre and lasts approximately 45 minutes. The guided tour is included in the Aalto2 admission fee.
