Monikulttuurikalenteri2026: Voices and Vibrations – Creating Sound Together

This art workshop invites participants to discover the unique sounds, rhythms and emotional layers of Iranian and Eastern musical traditions. During the workshop, we will experiment and create simple sound patterns using our own voices, recycled objects or basic instruments. The goal is to build a collective artistic moment where multicultural sounds meet the spirit of Oulu. The workshop also highlights connections between Iranian and Finnish culture, such as the shared relationship to nature, emotional expression and community.

The art workshop is free and will be held on December 13 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm & from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the Oulu Art Museum. Registration takes place at the art museum on the day of the workshop. The number of spots is limited, up to 20 and the participants will be accepted in the order of registration. No prior skills are required, and everything you need will be provided at the workshop. The recommended age is up to 10 years old, and we kindly ask you to supervise younger children.

Hanieh Hadizadeh is a sound specialist and musician from Iran, focusing on multicultural sound exploration and creative learning.

Hamed Jalili is a musician and cultural project organizer who works with world music and community based artistic activities in Oulu.
