Monikulttuurikalenteri2026: Sri Lankan Traditional Mask Making

In the art workshop, you will learn about the symbolism of masks, shape a plaster base, build striking features, and decorate your mask with traditional patterns. You’ll take home a unique cultural mask and get to taste Sri Lankan sweets!

The event is suitable for ages 7 and above. Participant limit is 12 people. Registration takes place at the art museum on the workshop day. Participants will be accepted in the order of registration.

The art workshop is held by Chathura Jayasekara who loves painting nature and human portraits. “I have studied Sri Lankan art traditions along with several other well-known international artistic styles, and I’m passionate about sharing the richness of our cultural heritage. Through this workshop, I hope to inspire others to experience the joy of creating and to appreciate the beauty of cultural fusion.”
