Autumn Break at the Finnish Hunting Museum

Riihimäki will be celebrating autumn holidays from 11 to 19 October. The Finnish Hunting Museum has something to see and do for all ages!

Squirrel Day, the anniversary of the Finnish Hunting Museum, will be celebrated on 15 October. There will be a campfire-scented atmosphere in the museum's courtyard. The museum is open from 10 am to 5 pm and the exhibitions are free to enter all day. Coffee, juice and cookies will be available throughout Squirrel Day, and bonfires will be lit for those who like to cook. K-Supermarket Kumela will be participating in the day's catering, offering grilled sausages to the first 200 people. The Vaasa Bakery in Riihimäki will offer savory and sweet pastries to enjoy with coffee and juice.

A squirrel-themed search task and drawing station will be available for children inside the museum. A surprise prize will be drawn among those who participate in the tasks, and the squirrel drawings will be displayed in the museum. The museum's own teddy bear character will move young and old alike during morning exercises at 10 and 11 a.m.

Our new changing exhibitions will introduce you to the specialties of stuffed animals and the art of woodcarving. In our craftin station, you can make yourself a wildly funny mask or an animal-themed reading buddy. There is also a whole club of strange creatures hiding in the exhibition, can you find each one?
