Havina
Käsityömuseo Miila, Paimio
- 3.6.2026–30.8.2026
The new textile art exhibition Havina at the Miila Craft Museum is a show of love for birds.

The works in the textile art exhibition Havina are a testament to our love for birds. Both those we encounter every day and those whose numbers have become alarmingly low. Variegated and less colorful – big and small.
The more you examine the details of their plumage and learn about their species-specific behavior, the deeper your appreciation for these fascinating and enchantingly beautiful winged creatures grows.
The Miila Craft Museum features hand-sewn rugs by Jessica Koivistoinen, as well as works made using tufting and embroidery techniques. Jessica Koivistoinen is a visual artist and bird enthusiast who graduated from the Fine Arts department of the Turku Academy of Arts in 2021. Her works have been exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions, including in Helsinki, Pori, Tampere and Turku. In addition to creating art about birds, Koivistoinen participates in bird monitoring and conservation work as a volunteer throughout the year in the Turun Lintutieteellinen Yhdistys ry
