Duncan Driver: Music and Meaning in Shakespeare’s Sonnets

Mhon – Songs in Experiment and Silence

Mhon is the solo project of German artist Judith Mann. As a musician, composer, and sound artist, she has spent years working at the intersection of concerts, theatre, radio drama, and visual art.

Mhon’s music is characterized by Judith Mann’s delicate and fragile vocals, interwoven with field recordings, synthesizers, processed sounds, and the conscious use of silence. Mhon’s visit to Finland is supported by a grant from the Saastamoinen Foundation.

Artist Judith Mann has performed throughout Europe and in New York and is now visiting Finland for the first time. She chose to travel to Finland during the darkest time of the year in order to collect new sounds for her music. Mhon’s compositions tell stories in which silence intertwines with sounds gathered from different parts of the world. These sounds have been recorded onto cassette tapes during her travels using an old Walkman.

The concert is included in the admission fee. Admission: 12 / 6 €. Free admission for visitors under 18. Museum Card and Kaikukortti are accepted.
