The Military Museum celebrates Vesikko Day on July 9th, the 52nd birthday of the submarine Vesikko as a museum.
The event includes various activities especially for families with children, such as submarine courses, face paiting, an origami workshop and storytimes. The activities are held in Suomenlinna near the submarine Vesikko and in the Artillery Manege of the Military Museum.
Submarine courses are playful events for children where they can try out their skills as a submarine crew member. In the face paint booth museum staff paint Vesikko-themed face paintings for children. During the storytimes you can hear about the great adventure of the submarine Vesikko. Additionally visitors can ask for a Vesikko guiz booklet from the Vesikko ticket booth.
In the Artillery Manege the visitors can join the origami workshop to fold their own paper boats and color Vesikko-themed drawings.
