Riihisaari is an immersive experience. It brings together cultural history, nature, art, events, shopping, museum steamships, and breathtaking scenery in the national landscape surrounding Olavinlinna Castle. Come and explore the exhibitions—or simply spend time enjoying the rocky shores of Riihisaari. Riihisaari offers something to see and experience for everyone who enjoys culture and nature.
In the historic granary building, you will find the exhibitions of Riihisaari – Savonlinna Museum. You can discover fascinating information and engaging experiences related to the history of water transport on Lake Saimaa, and the region’s cultural history and rich natural environment, including the Saimaa Ringed Seal. A charming doll collection is also permanently on display in its own dedicated exhibition.
Thanks to numerous temporary exhibitions and a wide variety of events, there is always something to do and something new to see throughout the year. The museum steamships are open during the summer.
Riihisaari is also a pleasant destination for families with children. Children and young people under the age of 18 always enjoy free admission.
